Award Winning Video Production
Richard A. (Rick) Romanus, Sr., is President of Blue Ridge Digital, LLC, a national award winning video production company, and AuctionServices.com, LLC, the largest auction community on the Internet. He has been a pioneer and motivator for the Auction Industry for more than eight (8) years. His expertise in high-tech digital video production, Internet hosting and design, and cutting edge tools and software has won him state and national awards. An associate member of the NAA and many Auctioneer Associations since 1995, Romanus has an extensive background in computer hardware and software, technology, and the auction industry.
From a "car family" with many years of experience dealing with auto auctions as both buyer and seller, Romanus owned and operated Yorkville Auto from 1980 to 1992. He fully automated the office of the nationwide automobile wholesaler as computers were just hitting the market. The move allowed the business to quickly, and proficiently, handle the transfer of up to 200 vehicles a month. Several articles about his innovative techniques in the automation of his office, plus his new way of wholesaling, were written in Automotive News, an industry standard publication.
In 1991, he purchased an auto auction that was running about 50 "junk" vehicles a week. After a year of owning the auction, it was running 200 to 250 quality vehicles each week.
In 1992, he moved to Virginia and changed careers. Today he has been able to combine all of his many talents into becoming a part of the growth of the auction industry, and makes available to all auctioneers the latest technology, not only in video production, but also in software products that will enhance auctions, full Internet capabilities, and digital products. He and his wife, Nancy, have assembled a staff that keeps their finger on the pulse of technology, helping auctioneers stay aware, and equipped, to meet the challenges the Internet has to offer.
